As a licensed clinician with 22 years of experience, my goal is to assist you in overcoming practical and emotional obstacles to living a life of fulfillment, peace of mind and creative passion. I incorporate a practical problem solving approach with traditional techniques in a unique synthesis to address your concerns. I offer you tools to manage emotional distress and guide you to find answers and resources to improve your life from the first time we meet.
You will come away from therapy better able to cope with the challenges of life more effectively. Our work together is based on your goals; my role is to facilitate your ability to better handle whatever circumstances are in your life in the present, and if you are interested, to address any unresolved issues that still affect you from your past. If you seek couples counseling; both you and your partner will be addressed with respect and compassion. I approach your concerns, including substance overuse, with a nonjudgemental attitude and I guide you to discover what works for you, rather than trying to fit you into a "one size fits all" perspective. I also work with you to find a fee that is affordable for your budget whether or not you have insurance. I am sensitive to the financial needs of people in the arts and students.
